Our leathers are a natural product cut from the same hides as used by manufactures of balls and equipment used by NFL, NBA, NCAA, and MLB. The leathers require slightly more care than conventional brass and aluminum plates. Being natural, each pieces may have markings which only adds uniqueness of each piece. This will occur mostly in our glove leather.
On a 35 watt laser, we recommend running at a 35 to 40 power and 70 to 80 speed. Running at a slower speed or at a higher power may produce a shadow around the engraved area. This can be gently wiped away with a damp cloth or a paper towel. Do not rub excessively.
The leather needs to be sealed with our lacquer based spray which will seal in the engraved areas and give an overall shine to the finished piece.
Each piece is produced with a full adhesive backing to ensure complete adhesion to your plaque.
